We would like to invite you to support Michael's Seafood 12th Annual Shrimp Open Golf Tournament scheduled for April 26, 2010. The tournament will be held at Pine Valley Country Club in Wilmington, NC with 100% of the proceeds donated to charity.

This very successful tournament started in 1998 raising $2,500 and grew by leaps and bounds. To date we have raised over $370,000 for Research. It is a heartwarming, good fellowship event that draws from the hearts of all involved.

The funds will be split equally between the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and the Duke University Medical Center Lung Transplant Program. The funds for Cystic Fibrosis are benchmarked specifically for research to help find a cure. The funds for the Lung Transplant Program are for the team to research new medications, therapies and case studies for the increased life span of lung transplant recipients.

In order to participate, complete an entry form and return along with payment to reserve your spot. It is an 18 hole Captain's Choice Tournament with a 10:00 A.M. shotgun start. After the tournament, a Shrimp-a-Roo will be held at Michael's with an All-u-Can eat buffet, cash bar, auction and entertainment. Teams will be selected by a random drawing process as the previous years rather than by handicap. Golfers of ALL abilities are welcome. Trophies will be awarded to the top 2 teams, closest to the pins, longest and shortest drives.

The twelfth annual Shrimp Open Golf Tournament is taking place in Wilmington, NC on Monday, April 26, 2010. This year's proceeds are being split with 50% donated to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation for research for a cure and 50% to the Duke University Lung Transplant Program for the team to research new medications, therapies and case studies for the increased life span of lung transplant recipients.

One of the biggest money producers for our charity event is our auction we hold at the post party. In past years, we raised over 70% of our proceeds from the auction alone. The auction consists of a wide variety of products donated to us. As stated in our information sheet, 100% of EVERYTHING we raise goes directly to charity. To give an idea of the wide variety of items we would like to receive, in years past we auctioned everything from homemade quilts, crafts and pies to autographed sports memorabilia to golf packages and weekend getaways.

Please consider donating any items that would help us reach our goal in our fight for the cure this year. Upon request, we will comply with your community charitable trust requirements and provide you with the necessary documentation for our nonprofit fundraising event. All donations are tax deductible and are greatly appreciated.
